Volunteer with Dunedin RDA

RDA volunteers are like the superheroes of our program, swooping in to save the day and keep our horses happy and fed! Without them, we’d be more lost than a horse at a rodeo. So, if you’re a strong, forward-thinking individual who can wrangle both horses and humans, we need you to join our elite team of horse handlers and side-kickers. Trust us, it’s way more fun than it sounds!

​The role requires the following attributes:

• Being physically fit and healthy is essential, as leading and side walking often requires navigating over uneven areas.
• Committed & reliable
• Eager to learn
• Level-headed with a sense of fun!
• Health and Safety conscience
• At least 14 years of age

Horse experience is NOT necessary – All training is provided.

Not able or interested in volunteering for the program? No problem! There’s a smorgasbord of other volunteering opportunities for all ages waiting for you! Fancy some paddock duties? You can be the horse’s personal butler (feeding & rugging them up like a five-star hotel)! Or how about cleaning water troughs and mucking out—an experience we’d like to call “aromatic therapy”? There are also maintenance jobs and fundraising, because who doesn’t like a little sweat with their smiles? Join the fun!

3. Complete the police form here. You must save the form as a PDF and include an ESignature (or scan with signature). If you need assistance with this, please email office@rdadunedin.org. Completed police forms need to be sent direct to office@rdadunedin.org along with a copy of your photo ID.
